REMEMBER A LOVED ONE
When an animal passes away from life, there is a feeling of emptiness and loss. I find it very special to be able to offer comfort and evoke something of a sense of presence with a well-struck painting. It will not return a loved one, but the feeling of that dear friendship or love will remain somewhat preserved and accessible from time to time.
The bond between humans and animals is often very rich and intense. During introductions, I therefore always ask in detail about their experiences. That way, in addition to the outward appearances, I discover what kind of character lies behind them. A real encounter is therefore an indispensable facet for painting a true portrait.

PROCESS
Each portrait is based on a unique process. I prefer to start with a personal meeting and experience the atmosphere of the space where the work will hang. This determines the design of the painting and its quality. The photographs taken during this process serve as reference material.
The preliminary process and painting of a portrait takes a lot of time and is therefore quite costly. Determining factors are the size, number of people, technique and complexity. Such as details in the background, jewelry or clothing.
