Commissioned oil portraits. Subdued. With an eye for the soul of man and animal.

From the first meeting to a completed painted portrait, I look for the emotional qualities that touch the essence of a personality and allow the portrait to come alive.
The result is a carefully observed moment in time, an image that can endure for generations and speaks of a person within their time.

Human
As fascinating as painting people, I find capturing the essence of animals. Each animal has a unique personality and a special role in its owner's life.
I like to listen to the stories behind this bond and translate them into a work of art that is more than a picture. A telling portrait that evokes memories and touches.

Horses exude majestic power and elegance. What particularly interests me is the bond between horse and human, the silent communication.
In my paintings, I strive to capture not only the physical strikingly, but also the emotion and the unique connection with humans.
With the aim, a portrait that reflects the existential essence of a cherished relationship in a timeless tribute.

Have a portrait taken
A spontaneous digital photograph is taken in an instant these days. A painted portrait, on the other hand, takes a lot of time and study. But then there is a substantial difference in the result. Unlike a fleeting photograph, a painting evokes an emotional depth.
A painted portrait is therefore a special way of immortalising memories. And sometimes lasts for generations as an heirloom.
Although I prefer to paint from life, I often work with photography. After all, posing costs the person portrayed a lot of time, which is difficult with a busy schedule.
During a meeting, I therefore take a very large amount of photographs from which I can compile a portrait.
As a client, having a portrait painted is a personal and sometimes moving experience, in which your story is central.
The process invites you to reflect. What do you want to capture and why. Whether it is a loved one, an animal, or a special memory, this experience will forever be part of the memories accompanying the portrait.

“ ...own signature, eye for detail and quality... ”
As an artist and entrepreneur, Frank has a beautiful combination of his own signature, an eye for detail and quality, and a love for people and materials, which provides a wonderful foundation for workshops, personal trajectories and free assignments.
“Hera as she is”
Frank has done an incredible job to capture our dog Hera. Hera passed away a few weeks ago and we are touched every day by her painting. He managed to capture Hera as she is!!
“expectations exceeded”
He exceeded our expectations!! We are still very happy with the canvases that aesthetically have a beautiful place in the house and that also connect so beautifully with our feelings: very special!! Thank you Frank for the person you are and the talent you throw into the world! And with what apparent ease! Wonderful!
About Frank
‘When I started mixing oils one day and saw the colours emerge, it gave me butterflies in my stomach. And it still feels like magic: bringing shape, colour and texture together in a portrait touches.
I find visual inspiration in the way light slides across a landscape, a look in someone's eyes, or a beautiful pose of an animal.
I strive to capture more than just a portrait; I look for the story, captured in paint, moments you feel.
What I do is all about connection with the subject, an intangible quality that brings us together.’
